To prevent plaque from mineralising into tartar and causing lasting damage to dental health, it should be removed regularly, preferably daily. The innovative ^bogadent® ANTI-PLAQUE FINGER consists of 20,000 particularly high-quality microfibres coated with silver ions. Each of these fibres is additionally coated with a polymer layer. This special, patented silver ion technology allows a continuous release of active silver ions over a long period of time and thus unfolds its antibacterial effect. The high-tech microfibre fabric (made in Germany) removes plaque very effectively and adapts to all finger sizes and is easy to clean.

A prerequisite for the development of tartar is plaque. This is a biofilm which consists of food residues as well as bacteria and their metabolic products and is deposited on the teeth . If plaque is not removed regularly, it hardens by the minerals contained in the saliva and becomes solid tartar. This leads to inflammation and recession of the gums, exposure of tooth necks and damage to the periodontal apparatus - periodontosis.

Further progression of the inflammation and damage leads to bone loss (osteolysis), tooth loosening and finally tooth loss. These pathological changes are extremely painful for your cat. They affect the quality of life and can lead to behavioural problems and changes in eating behaviour.

How can you tell if your cat is suffering from dental problems?
Bad breath is often the first sign. This can come from the food. However, if the bad breath persists despite a change of food, the cause is often an inflammation of the gums . Check your cat's teeth regularly by carefully lifting the lips. Plaque and tartar are increasingly deposited on the rear molars and on the canines. If the gum line is reddened and already bleeds when touched, the inflammation is advanced and a visit to the vet is highly recommended .

How can you protect your Lebling from dental problems?
Chewing snacksand chews help to remove plaque. However, this alone is not enough! Thorough and efficient cleaning of the teeth is only possible with a toothbrush or fingerling.
