Hanfred hemp seed oil for dogs is a particularly valuable addition to their daily diet. The oil is rich in the fatty acids omega 3 & 6. Dogs cannot produce these essential fatty acids in their own bodies; they must be supplied with food.
The fatty acids are partly responsible for healthy skin and a beautiful coat, can strengthen the immune system (especially gamma-linolenic acid omega 6) and have a positive effect on digestive processes. In addition, the fatty acid omega 3 has an anti-inflammatory effect in the body and is important for the development and maintenance of brain function.
Hemp seed oil also contains vitamin E, a natural antioxidant. Vitamin E can help to bind free radicals and protect cells from premature ageing. It also contains substances such as zinc, manganese, sodium, iron, magnesium and potassium - the oil is a true nutrient miracle!
Is hemp seed oil the same as CBD oil?
No!
The oils are extracted from different parts of the plant and have different effects. Hemp seed oil is produced by cold pressing the seeds of industrial hemp. It contains no CBD (cannabidiol), but a range of important nutrients. It is ideal as a feed additive to BARF or ready-to-eat food.
CBD oil is obtained as an extract from the CBD-containing parts (mainly the flower) and then combined with a neutral oil or hemp seed oil for use. CBD is mainly used for medicinal purposes, whereas hemp seed oil is a high-quality edible oil. Caution! Do not heat so that the nutrients are not lost!
How much oil does my dog need daily?
The dosage is approximately 1 teaspoon per 10kg body weight daily. The amount should be increased slowly, as too much oil can lead to diarrhoea in sensitive dogs.
The oil should always be stored in a cool, dark place and consumed within 8 months. If the oil develops a bitter flavour, it should be discarded.
