PERROVET Insect is a highly palatable, easily digestible diet for adult dogs for feeding in cases of allergies or intolerances in combination with accompanying gastrointestinal or dermatological problems.
Insect protein has a high biological value (85%) and an excellent amino acid composition. From a nutritional point of view, it is more than equivalent to conventional protein sources and is therefore a very good alternative to meat. Dogs that are particularly susceptible to allergies benefit from the protein carrier insect as well as from the grain-free and lactose-free composition of the product.
In addition to the nutritional benefits, the use of insects as a protein source protects the environment. There are significantly fewer greenhouse gases compared to the use of beef as a protein source (greenhouse gases for 1 kg protein: beef 175 kg insect 10 kg), soil pollution is significantly lower and insects leave a much smaller water footprint (water consumption for 1 kg protein: beef 112,000 L insect 23,000 L). In addition, 100% of an insect can be utilised, compared to only 40% of a cow's edible portion.
