The Ajka tick hook is designed to remove ticks safely and painlessly. The set consists of two tick hooks of different sizes. With the small hook, even tiny ticks can be removed without leaving any residue with a little practice.
The tick hook, which is usually easier to use than tick forceps, usually removes the entire tick with head and mouth parts effortlessly. It is pushed under the head of the tick and then gently rotated around its own axis. The body of the tick is not squeezed in the process, so the risk of transmitting diseases (such as borreliosis or babesiosis) or toxic substances during removal is reduced to a minimum. Ticks can be removed effortlessly even from difficult and sensitive skin areas - not only from animals, but also from humans!
In order to counteract the transmission of diseases, it is particularly important to remove ticks early after they have been sucked in. The ticks become active already from approx. 7°C outside temperature - so they can appear already in winter at mild temperatures.
